Amy Amanda Justice Nation, age 45, of Demorest, Georgia, took her Heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Born in Demorest, Georgia on October 2, 1980, she was a beloved daughter of Elaine Smith Justice of Cornelia and the late Stephen Wendell Justice.
Affectionately known by her family as "Lulu" and "Big Bird," Amy was truly a light to everyone blessed to know her. She possessed a heart overflowing with love, kindness, and compassion, and never met a stranger. Gifted with an incredible memory, Amy could remember a person's name and birthday after meeting them only once, making everyone she encountered feel special and valued. Her family lovingly referred to her as the "Habersham 411" because she always seemed to know what was happening in the community and delighted in keeping up with family and friends.
Amy was an honor graduate of Habersham Central High School, Class of 2000, where she proudly served in the Band of Blue Color Guard. Music was one of the great joys of her life from an early age, and she especially loved lifting her voice in praise as a member of the church choir.
Above all else, Amy loved the Lord with her whole heart. She faithfully served her Savior as a devoted member of Good News Baptist Church, where she joyfully ministered through the children's ministry, church food ministry, and Vacation Bible School. Her servant's heart reflected the love of Christ in countless quiet acts of kindness, and her pure heart and unwavering faith were evident to everyone who knew her.
Family meant everything to Amy. She treasured every moment spent with her nieces and nephews, loving each one with all her heart. More than anything, she cherished her husband, Johnny, whose love and companionship brought her tremendous joy. Amy's gentle spirit, infectious smile, caring nature, and genuine concern for others have left an imprint on countless lives. Though her earthly journey was far too brief, the legacy of faith, love, and kindness she leaves behind will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved her.
In addition to her father, Amy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, James and Louise Justice; and her maternal grandparents, J.L. and Wonetta Smith.
Survivors include her loving husband of four years, Johnny Lee Nation; mother, Elaine Smith Justice; brother, Stacey Justice; sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Brent Purcell; nieces, Brianna and Eli Pilgrim, Hannah Justice, Lanie Mae Justice, and Janna and C.J. Whittaker; nephews, Christian Justice, Isaiah Justice, Justin and Jamie Gosnell, Matthew and Nikki Purcell, and Chris Purcell; great-nephews, Kohen McGugan, Stetson Wendell Pilgrim, and Grady Purcell; mother-in-law, Debra Nation; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a host of dear friends who will forever cherish her memory and miss her tremendously.
A Homegoing Service to celebrate Amy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Good News Baptist Church with Pastor Austin Kelley and Rev. Adam Humphries officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026.
