Bennie Sue Mayfield, age 70, of Cornelia, Georgia, took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 02, 2026.

Born in Toccoa, Georgia, on March 03, 1956, Bennie Sue was a daughter of the late Ralph Mayfield, Sr. and Lola Mae Williams Mayfield. She was a graduate of Habersham Central High School, Class of 1974.

Bennie Sue was a hardworking and dedicated lady who spent many years employed with Mount Vernon Mills in Alto before her retirement. Throughout the years, she formed many lasting friendships and was blessed with a host of people whose lives became intertwined with her own. 

Those who knew Bennie Sue will remember her for the special place she held within her family and among her many friends. She treasured the relationships she shared with those around her, and she was blessed with friends who became more like family. Her life leaves behind precious memories that will continue to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Left behind to cherish those memories include her brothers and sister-in-law, Ralph Mayfield, Jr. & Venetta Mayfield and Grady Mayfield; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and dear friends who were like family to Bennie Sue.

In accordance with Bennie Sue's wishes, she will be cremated and no formal funeral services will be held. Her cremated remains will be laid to rest beside her beloved parents at Kings Branch Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the love Bennie Sue shared and the memories she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. May they find peace in the promise that for those who know the Lord, goodbye is not forever, but only until we meet again.
