Obituary

Betty Rosetta Galloway Densmore, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, and has gone home. She was born on April 29, 1935, to the late Barry and Ozella Ivester Galloway Vanhook. She grew up in Turnerville, GA. and was an honor graduate of Tallulah Falls School.

Betty was known by many names, but all went with the same big heart: Mom, Gran, Granny, Danner, Rosie. She loved her family fiercely and would do anything for them. This extended to the scores of animals throughout her life. All of the dogs, grand-dogs, and great-grand-dogs were well-loved and very well- fed.

Betty was an excellent quilter and loved making things to share with those she loved. She enjoyed antiquing, gardening, and sitting in her swing in the sun, watching the birds and deer. Most of all, she loved the Lord and spent time in her bible and in prayer daily. The family will dearly miss her spunk and her hilarious stories.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Densmore; her parents; beloved stepfather, Roger Vanhook; four siblings (Hazel, Eunice, Charles, and Preston); and her son, Danny Densmore.

She is survived by her son, Rick (Lisa) Densmore of the Batesville community; daughter-in-law, Sandi Densmore of Turnerville; grandchildren Jeremy (Sarah) Densmore of Gainesville, Lee (Brittany) Densmore of Turnerville, Kristina Warden; five great-grandchildren (Jillian, Jessica, Gunner, Annaleigh, and Addison); a great-great grandson (Marshall); and a multitude of cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am on Saturday, July 18, 2026, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire. Interment will follow in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Turnerville.

The Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday July 17, 2026 at the funeral home.

An online guest register is available for the Densmore family and may be viewed at www.mcgaheegriffinandmcentire.com
