Betty Ann Lathan Gosnell

Betty Ann Lathan Gosnell, age 80, of Cornelia, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025.

Born on October 31, 1944, in Demorest, she was a daughter of the late Dawson and Dorothy Cash Lathan. Betty Ann was retired from Habersham Medical Center and attended Good News Baptist Church. She loved her church and her family tremendously, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren, with whom she enjoyed camping trips.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Gosnell; brothers, E.J. Lathan and Carl Lathan; sister and brother-in-law, Valerie Galloway (Donald); and brother-in-law, Eugene Allen.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Ricky Lathan (Malinda) and John Eric Gosnell (Anita Bradshaw); grandchildren, Brandon Douglas Lathan (Angela), Johnathan Gosnell (Kalea), and Amy Gosnell Duerr; great grandchildren, Aubree Lathan, Kaelynn Lathan, Lucas Duerr, and Samuel Bailey; sister, Louise Allen; sisters-in-law, Sarah Lathan and Mildred Lathan; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 11 am on Friday, August 1, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire, with Rev. Austin Kelley, Pastor Mike Franklin, and Pastor Chad Parham officiating.

Inurnment will be held at 11 am on Monday, August 4, 2025, at Yonah Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Chad Parham officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at the funeral home.
