3:00 - 5:00 pm (Eastern time)
Brela Faith Dover, age 20, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Born in Gainesville, Georgia, on December 13, 2005, Brela was a graduate of Habersham Central High School, Class of 2024. She was currently continuing her education at Truett McConnell University, where she was pursuing a major in English Arts with a minor in Humanities.
Brela was a bright, creative young woman with a love for learning and an appreciation for the simple things that made life meaningful. She enjoyed crafting, reading, writing, music, fishing, table-top gaming, antiquing, cooking, and hiking. From the early age of four, Brela loved playing soccer and continued with the sport through her middle school years, until health challenges would no longer allow her to play.
Those who knew Brela knew there were many things that made her uniquely herself. She possessed a creative spirit, loved reading a good book, writing, and expressing herself through words. She could find joy in everything from an antique treasure to time spent outdoors. And anyone who knew her well also knew about her love for pickles—if it involved pickles, chances were Brela was going to enjoy it.
Above all, Brela was deeply loved by her family. She shared an especially precious bond with her nieces and nephews, who brought tremendous joy to her life. Though her time on this earth was far too brief, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will remain with those who loved her.
Brela was preceded in death by her sister, Kendra Brooke Dover; paternal grandparents, Jack & Mary Dover; and maternal grandparents, Curtis & Ellie Henslee.
Survivors include her mother & step-father, Rachel Henslee Taylor (Phillip); father, Eddie Dover; brothers & sisters-in-law, Blake Moore; Dillan Moore (Lydia); and Kasedy Dover (Jessica); nephews, Coen Moore & Colby Moore; nieces, Kenley Moore, Karrah Dover, Kelia Dover, & Kylah Dover; special cousin & best friend, Tanner Dover; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, & many friends.
In accordance with Brela's wishes, the only celebration of her life will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Cornelia Community House, 601 Wyly Street, Cornelia, GA. 30531. Chosen speakers, Oakey Dover & Jacob Mann will begin sharing at 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, an account has been established at Traditions Bank to assist with the creation of a scholarship in Brela's memory at Truett McConnell University and/or a new foundation being established in her name, the Because of Brela Foundation https://www.becauseofbrela.org
Through this foundation, Brela's family hopes that her memory will continue to make a difference by raising awareness of Gastroparesis, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, Mental Illness, and other health challenges close to Brela's story. It is their hope that because of Brela, others may feel seen, understood, supported, and encouraged to know that they are never alone.
Brela's life cannot be measured simply by the number of years she was given, but by the love she shared, the people she touched, and the memories that will continue to live on. Her story will not end with her passing. Through her family, her friends, the scholarship created in her memory, and the work of the Because of Brela Foundation, her name and her legacy will continue to have meaning and purpose for years to come.
