Cornelia

Carolyn Benita Williams, age 61, of Cornelia, Georgia, took her Heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 05, 2025.

Born on June 08, 1964, in Demorest, Georgia, she was a beloved daughter of the late Millard Gene & Bernadine Gant Ferguson. Benita graduated from Habersham Central High School, Class of 1982, and continued her education at North Georgia Technical College. She was a dedicated homemaker and a devoted member of Good News Baptist Church. Benita's greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her cherished grandchildren. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she deeply valued her relationships within her church community, volunteering for both the bereavement and children's ministries, and sharing her love of music by singing in the church choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Montie Lee "Bebo" Ferguson.

Benita is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Tommy J. Williams; her daughter & son-in-law, Kelsey & Adam Cantrell; son, Clayton Williams; and her beloved grandchildren, Aiden & Jackson Cantrell & Peyton Ruark. She is also survived by her sisters & brothers-in-law, Sherrie Holland, Pattie & James Mills, Tammy & Dennis McDuffie, and Gail & Danny Plott, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Good News Baptist Church with Pastor Austin Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Pastor Anthony Shore officiating at the graveside.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 09, 2024.
