Charles Eugene "Gene" Houston

Charles Eugene “Gene” Houston, age 82, of Alto, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020.

Born on April 14, 1938, in Nokesville, Virginia, he was a son of the late Emma Hall Houston. Mr. Houston worked in Public Sanitation for 29 years. He was a member of Glade Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife, Carol Nichols Houston; brothers-in-law, Chester Shook and Freddy Shook and wife, Lisa; sisters-in-law, Kathy Archer and husband, Mike and Ann Webb and husband, Ronnie; aunt, Vernice Lovell; and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 21, 2020, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Glade Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the service hour on Monday at the funeral home.

All attending should maintain social distancing and adhere to public health guidelines.
