Daniel "Dan" James Mashburn, age 75, of Homer, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

Born May 13, 1951, in Wisconsin, Dan was the son of the late Robert Lee Mashburn and Joan Eichwald Mashburn. He was a longtime employee of Heidelberg Materials and was a man who found enjoyment in the simple things in life. Dan especially enjoyed watching television, with professional wrestling being one of his favorite pastimes. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with those he loved. He was a member of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his son, Billy Joe Rice; daughter, Angela Dawn Gore; and brothers, Douglas James Mashburn and Tommy Mashburn.

He is survived by his loving wife, Debra Patrick Mashburn; son, Christopher Mashburn; daughter, Shannon Nealy; grandchildren, Braxton Gore, Parker Gore, Dylan Fain, Caleb Gudger, and Trey Mashburn; three great-grandchildren; brother, Joey Mashburn; sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Johnny Singleton; Winna Gunn; and several nieces and nephews.

Dan will be remembered by his family and friends for the life he shared with them, the memories they made together, and the love he gave throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Funeral services are 11 am on Thursday, August 13, 2026, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire.

Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the funeral home.
