Dollie Mae Hurt Chandler, age 91, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2019.
Born on July 4, 1928, in Mt. Airy, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Ollie James Hurt. Mrs. Chandler was a native of Habersham County and a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Chandler; son, Levi Chandler; brothers: Ernest Hurt, Clyde Hurt, and infant Douglas Hurt; and sisters: Clara Clark, Beatrice Dill, and Mary Meeks.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Donald Allen Chandler and Caroline of Mt. Airy; daughter-in-law, Sue Chandler; grandchildren: Salena (Brent) McKay, Misty (Daryl) Rice, Daniel Chandler, David Chandler, Breanna Chandler, and James Chandler; great-grandchildren: Connor and Carter Rice, Chandler and Aleah McKay, and Charlotte Chandler; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Hurt and Janice of Cornelia; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Burrell and Rev. Trent Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Monday, September 16, 2019, at the funeral home.
