Dwight Ira Gailey

Dwight Ira Gailey, age 84, of Homer, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Born on February 10, 1941, in Homer, he was a son of the late Fay and Iris Chambers Gailey. Dwight was retired from Banks County Road Department, and was also a cattle and hay farmer, who enjoyed fishing in his spare time. He was a member of Line Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Bingham Gailey.

Survivors include sons, Patrick Gailey and Timothy Gailey; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Gailey Whitmire (Jackie), Pamela Gailey Luthi (James), and Gail Gailey Fusco (Lorenzo); nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry Gailey (Janet), and Michael Gailey; sister, Carolyn Torgesen; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are 2 pm on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire, with Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in Line Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the funeral home.
