In her spare time, Ellen found happiness in life’s gentle pleasures. She loved reading, crafting heartfelt cards, and preserving cherished memories through scrapbooking. She also had a deep appreciation for sailing, finding peace and freedom on the water. Above all, Ellen had a special love for her animals, who were always close to her heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, David Hammond.
Ellen leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her devoted husband of 30 years, David Mitchell Boyd; her daughter, Alyssa Lawson; step-children, Heather Boyd, and Chris & Brandy Boyd; her beloved grandchildren, David C. Lawson, Grayson Boyd, Kelsie Star, McKinley Ellis, Jake Evans, Savannah Boyd, and Natalie Boyd; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Madelynn, Malekai, Syrus, Bentley, and Jacey. She is also survived by other relatives including sister-in-law, Norma Collins & her husband, Michael Collins; niece, Jessica Collins; and many dear friends whose lives she touched.
Ellen’s gentle spirit, creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
In accordance with her wishes, Ellen will be cremated, and the family will hold services at a later time.
