Ellen Dalton

Ellen Payne Dalton, age 78 of Sandy Springs, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013, at her residence.
Born in Banks County on September 8, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Mozelle Norton Payne. Mrs. Dalton was retired from the Internal Revenue Service as a manager where she had 38 years of service. She was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Jonathan Dalton; sister, Beth Payne Arnold; brother-in-laws, J. B. Ragsdale and Bill Arnold.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Anthony & Loretta Dalton of Baldwin; granddaughter and spouse, Jessica & Josh Herrin of Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, Ron & Janice Payne of Snellville; sister, Lou Ragsdale of Toccoa; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn & Charles Dickerson of Smyrna; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are 2:00 pm Monday, October 7, 2013, at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 pm Sunday.
