Emily Brock Simmons, age 83 of Alto, passed away on Monday, June 18, 2018.
Born in Banks County, Georgia on December 3, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Silas Condus and Mandy Vine Maxwell Brock. She was a seamstress with Baldwin Garments for many years. Mrs. Simmons was a resident of Habersham Retreat and enjoyed crafts, painting, puzzles and spending time with family. She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Branson H. Simmons; daughter, Kay Simmons Cochran; grandchildren, Kristen Rose Simmons and Ely Simmons; brothers, Floyd Brock, Lloyd Brock, Aaron Brock, Doyle Brock, Lawrence Brock, Ezra Brock; sisters, Iowa Brock, Lois Brock, Floyce Manus, Elvie LaCount, Annie Roberson, Arizona Gailey.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen & Kevin Pope of Jefferson; sons, Wendell Simmons of Alto and Kenneth Simmons of Hollingsworth Community; grandchildren and spouses, Kimberly & Scott Holder, Erin Simmons, Christy & Jesse Holman, Kristopher & Marybeth Pope, Pamela Cochran, Branson & Laura Simmons; great grandchildren, Dakota Holman, Breanna Holman, Dylan Cochran, Nathan Ingram, Aiden Ingram, Brystol Pope, Dawsyn Pope, Ryder Pope, Chetson Holder, Makya Adams, Paisley Mealor, Jay Mealor; sisters, Florence Payne of Baldwin and Eula Cheek of Clarkesville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Mt. View Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. All friends and family are requested to be at the church by 1:45 pm.
The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 pm on Thursday at the church.
