George Alan Davey, age 78, of Clarkesville, passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
Born on May 13, 1947, in Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late George Davey and Shirley Kennett Sorensen. Alan was a U.S. Air Force veteran who was recently employed with Ingles in Clarkesville. In his spare time, he could be found golfing, outdoors by the lake where he enjoyed fishing, or maybe somewhere in the woods hunting. Alan was also an active member of AA where he served as a mentor, helping others achieve the sobriety that he had experienced for over 40 years. He was of the Episcopal faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lynda Dinsmore.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Jason Davey (Tinnelle) and James Davey (Marquanne); grandchildren, Amber Holcomb (Tyler), Ashley Davey, Adam Davey, McKinley Davey, and Mallory Davey; great grandchildren, Camron Holcomb and Harper Holcomb; sister, Christine Banik (George); several extended relatives and friends.
Alan's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service to be held at a later time.
