Geraldine Palmer Williams

January 27, 1940 — August 10, 2025

Geraldine Palmer Williams, age 85, of Demorest, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025.

Born on January 27, 1940, in Demorest, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Clayton and Olith Newport Palmer. Mrs. Williams possessed many talents and a hard work ethic. Over the years she was employed with The Saddle Shop, Midway Garment/Orbit, and Magnolia Hills from where she retired. When not on the job, she could be found working with her beloved flowers in her yard. In her spare time, she could also be found reading her Bible, doing word puzzles, or cooking. She received the Bible readers award at Fisherman's Net where she attended church services, and she was famous for her fried potatoes among other dishes that she prepared. Geraldine loved her family dearly. She was known by her nieces and nephews as Aunt Dean, and later became known to her grandchildren as Madean, and then GiGi to her great grandchildren. She enjoyed tending to children, was known to adopt any of the children's friends who came to visit, and would help anyone in need. Yearly trips to Pigeon Forge, and listening to Southern Gospel Music and George Jones were some of her favorite things in life. Everyone loved to hear Geraldine laugh, and now they can share a laugh remembering that she never could master the cell phone or the TV remote.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bobby Williams; brothers, Elmer and Bob Palmer; sisters, Doris Yudick, Marjorie Coe, Myrtis Brooks, and Lydia Bell Vonbargen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim and Ruby Foster Williams; and sister-in-law and her husband, Kathleen Smith (Bennie).

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Roger Williams (Denise); daughter and son-in-law, Robbie Wade (Randall); grandchildren, Bridget Wade, Faith Eller (Jon), Joe Williams (Priscilla), Jake Williams (Heather), Larissa Lester, and Nick Allen; great grandchildren, Parker, Randall, Christian, Noah, Alex, Roger, Charlie Anna, Luci, and Quinnlee; twin brother and sister-in-law, Gerald Palmer (Kathy); numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
