Heather Michele Wilbanks Free

Heather Michele Wilbanks Free, age 44, of Mount Airy, Georgia, took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.

Born on January 27, 1981, in Toccoa, Georgia, Heather was the cherished daughter of Ralph William and Effie Carolyn Lovell Wilbanks.

A 1999 graduate of Habersham Central High School, Heather poured her love, patience, and devotion into everything she did. She was a dedicated professional dog breeder, known for her care and expertise in raising AKC registered Pugs. Her gentle spirit and deep affection for animals shone brightly in her work, but her greatest joy was found in her family.

Heather was a loving daughter, a devoted wife, and a doting Mama—roles she embraced with her whole heart and carried with grace and pride. She was a faithful member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where her steadfast faith, compassion, and warmth touched countless lives.

She was preceded in death by her precious daughters, Madeline Jane Free and Madison Michele Free; her maternal grandparents, Carl Tony and Nancy Lovell; her paternal grandparents, Roy Wilbanks and Ellene Wilbanks Perry; and her step-grandfather, Carl Perry.

Heather’s memory will forever be treasured by her loving husband, Christopher Scott Free; her children, William Scott Free and Mercy Free; her parents, Ralph and Effie Wilbanks; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Woodrow and Pat Free; along with many beloved relatives and a host of dear friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 8, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Bainey officiating. Interment will follow at Chopped Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2025.
