Born on February 3, 1955 in Demorest, he was a son of the late John Vance and Martha Jane Erwin Flanagan. Mr. Flanagan was employed as a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Guy and Geraldine Flanagan of Woodruff, South Carolina and John and Pat Flanagan of Alto.
