Jackson “Lamar” Grier, age 89, of Lula, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026.

Born on June 30, 1937, in Jefferson, Lamar was a son of the late Frank and Amanda Grier. He retired from Chicopee and Ethicon Manufacturing following many years of dedicated service.

Lamar will be fondly remembered as a good, hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family. He lived a simple and meaningful life, demonstrating his love and devotion through his strong work ethic and commitment to those he held dear. His steady presence and the care he showed for his loved ones will remain a cherished part of his memory. Lamar was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sarah B. Grier; son and daughter-in-law, James and Marie Grier; stepdaughter, Janice Sloan; grandsons, Justin Grier and Stephen Ballew; along with other relatives and friends.

In accordance with Lamar's wishes, he will be cremated, and no formal service will be held.
