James Smith

James Smith, age 73, of Seneca, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.

Born on April 22, 1952, in Cornelia, Georgia, he was a son of the late Essie Smith. James was a graduate of Washington High School in Greenville, South Carolina. He retired from Milliken and was an avid Gamecock fan. James was of the Baptist faith.

He leaves to mourn his passing a sister, Winnie Banks of Mt. Airy, Georgia; a brother, Marion Smith of Cornelia, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including three special friends, Margaret Gibson, Chanel Gideon, and LeDell Tucker.

Funeral services are 2 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire, with Rev. Joe Lee Banks, Jr. officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour on Saturday, at the funeral home.
