Jimmy Simon Brock, age 83 of Cornelia, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
Born in Banks County, Georgia on December 26, 1934, he was a son of the late Simon & Lula Maxwell Brock. Mr. Brock was a retired carpenter by trade. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family. Mr. Brock was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Otis Brock, Roscoe Brock and Vernon Brock; sisters, Woodie Ruth Chambers and Hazel Payne; great grandson, Walker McFalls.
Surviving are his loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy McClellon Brock of Cornelia; son and daughter-in-law, James & Alesia Brock of Cornelia; son, Daniel Brock of Cornelia; daughters, Amber Cleveland of Elberton, Breanna Brock and Hannah Brock both of Cornelia; grandchildren, Simon Brock and Lorrie McFalls; great granddaughter, McKenzie McFalls; brother, Verlon Brock of Homer; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm Friday, June 8, 2018 in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Danny O’Kelley and Rev. Joe McCrackin officiating. Interment will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
