Lee Gailey, Jr., age 66, of Mt. Airy, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 at his residence.
Born on February 22, 1947 in Morgan County, Georgia, he was a son of the late Lee, Sr. and Arizonia Brock Gailey. Mr. Gailey was a member of New Birth Baptist Church and was a sawmiller with C & S Builders. He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and woodworking.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gailey was also preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Blackwell; brothers, Condus, Finess and Fred Gailey.
Survivors include wife, Mary Jean Mauldin Gailey of Mt. Airy; son & daughter-in-law, Scott & Dina Gailey of Baldwin; daughter & son-in-law, Alena & Nicky Tomlin of Mt. Airy; brothers, James Gailey of Alto, Johnny Gailey of Alto, Larry Gailey of Homer and Robert Gailey of Toccoa; sisters, Frances Donaldson of Toccoa and Carrie Norton of Baldwin; grandchildren, Sierra, Alan, Amber and Holly Gailey, Chase and Taylor Tomlin.
Funeral services are 2 pm Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Junior Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in New Birth Baptist Church Cemetery in Baldwin.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Friday, from 10 am – 9 pm on Saturday and from 10am – 9 pm on Sunday.
