Lucille “Lucy” Davis Martin, age 68, of Demorest, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015.
Born on August 6, 1946, in Demorest, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Norman, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Blair Davis. Mrs. Martin was employed with USA Shop Convenience Stores and was a member of Community Baptist Church. She loved people and enjoyed racing, fishing, hunting and anything outdoors. She had a giving heart, was always helping others, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Wade “Wadie Boy” Davis and a sister, Brenda Thurmond.
Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Norman, Jr. and Carolyn Davis of Mt. Airy; Lloyd and Ruby Davis and Ray and Janice Davis all of Demorest; sister, Vernie Burns, Blanche Burns and Geneva Gosnell all of Demorest; 18 nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are 4:30 pm on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Alvin Burns and Rev. Ray Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday and from 2 pm until the service hour on Sunday at the funeral home.
