Maria Tereza Hernandez Martinez, age 58, of Mount Airy, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Born July 4, 1968, in Mexico, Maria was the daughter of Adolfo Hernandez and Margarita Martinez. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and a dear friend to many. Her greatest joy in life was her family, and she treasured every opportunity to gather for family reunions and celebrations.

Maria had a beautiful way of bringing warmth and happiness to those around her. She especially loved singing to her granddaughters, creating precious memories that they will carry with them always. She had a special love for flowers and found joy in their beauty. Maria also loved cooking and sharing meals with the people she loved, believing that food was one of the many ways to bring family together.

Those who knew Maria will remember her loving heart, gentle spirit, and the happiness she brought into the lives of her family. Though she will be deeply missed, her love and memories will remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Joaquin Hernandez Martinez; son, Ernesto Hernandez; daughters, Sandra Hernandez, Yolanda Hernandez, and Yaneth Hernandez; sons-in-law, Alejandro Garcia Vaca, Alejandro Hernandez Lara, and Tomas Martinez; daughter-in-law, Alma Soto Hidalgo; grandson, Leonel Hernandez Soto; granddaughters, Fernanda Hernandez Soto, Jailene Hernandez Soto, Dayami Tomas Hernandez, and Zoe Hernandez Hernandez.

Maria's life was a beautiful gift to her family. Her love, laughter, songs, and the memories she created will live on through the generations she leaves behind. She will be forever loved, forever remembered, and deeply missed.

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2026, from the St Mark Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Level Grove Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home located at 2277 Dicks Hill Pkwy Mount Airy, GA 30563 starting at noon on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
