Martha Ann Williams Galloway, age 75, of Lula, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 07, 2026.
Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on October 31, 1950, Martha was a daughter of the late Talmadge Herrin and Stella Smith Herrin Cleveland. She was a hardworking and dedicated woman who spent more than 40 years with Fieldale Farms Corporation, where she faithfully served as a Safety Director/Coordinator until her retirement. Throughout her many years of service, Martha earned the respect of countless coworkers and formed friendships that remained dear to her throughout her life. Martha possessed an adventurous spirit and a genuine love for life. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, riding horses, and even flying airplanes—interests that reflected her independent nature and willingness to embrace life’s adventures. Whether on the golf course, horseback, or taking to the skies, Martha approached life with determination and enthusiasm. Above all else, however, family was the true treasure of Martha’s heart. Time spent with those she loved was precious to her, and the memories they created together will forever remain a source of comfort and joy. To so many, Martha was affectionately known simply as “Sis.” It was more than a nickname—it described exactly who she was. She had a way of making people feel like family and was a big sister not only to her own loved ones, but to countless friends and others whose lives she touched along the way. Her caring nature, strength, friendship, and unmistakable presence will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael “Mike” Galloway; sisters, Linda Kay and Shelby Jean Breeding; and brother, Clinton Herrin.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery & Tricia Smith; grandsons, Austin Smith & Owen Smith; brothers, Watson Herrin & James Herrin; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Martha leaves behind a beautiful legacy built through a lifetime of hard work, adventure, friendship, and devotion to those she loved. Though her earthly journey has ended, those who knew and loved “Sis” will carry her memory with them always. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she has gone home to be with the Lord and has been reunited with those precious loved ones who went before her.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2026, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home with Rev. David Simpson officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 09, 2026.
