Mary Louise Cunningham Brady, age 81, of Clarkesville, Georgia, took her heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2025. A woman of steadfast faith, quiet strength, and generous love, Louise’s life was a beautiful testimony of service to God, family, and community.
Born in Banks County, Georgia on July 14, 1944, she was the beloved daughter of the late Marion Cunningham and the late Sara Elizabeth James. Louise was a proud graduate of South Habersham High School, Class of 1961, and carried with her throughout life the values of hard work, kindness, and dedication.
Louise devoted many years of faithful service to Carwood Manufacturing Company and later to Belk Department Store, where she retired after more than 20 years. Her work ethic and gentle spirit left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.
A devoted wife and helpmate in ministry, Louise faithfully supported her husband, Brother Johnny Brady, as he preached the gospel throughout Habersham and Rabun Counties. Her quiet encouragement, unwavering faith, and servant’s heart were a blessing to countless churches and families. She was of the Baptist faith and lived daily by the principles she cherished.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Bro. Johnny Brady; her son, Kirk Brady; and her sisters, Carol Gailey and Marilyn June Brown.
Louise will be remembered for her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and the love she poured so freely into the lives of others. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
She leaves behind a legacy of love to be cherished by her adopted daughters, Marion Tucker and Carol Craft (Fred); her brother, Dennis Cunningham; her grandchildren, Greg and Erin Webb, Amanda and Granger Clark, Kyle Webb, Amber Pendley, Tommy Pendley, Jessie and Michael Savage, Jessica and Nathan Lambert, Jeremy Vandiver, Shania and Todd Roper, and Cheyanne and Chris Shockley; along with numerous great-grandchildren, other relatives, and a host of dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home, with Rev. Danny O’Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Jeremy Vandiver officiating at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
