Randy Dean Whisnant, age 66, of Clermont, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29, 2026.

Born on March 11, 1960, Randy was the son of the late Hershel Whisnant and Edna Loggins Whisnant. He was a devoted family man whose love for his family, his faith in Jesus, and his appreciation for the simple joys of life were at the heart of who he was. Randy enjoyed hunting and fishing, but above all, he cherished the time he spent with those he loved.

Randy had a generous heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was known for his sense of humor, his playful nature, and his love of picking at people, always finding a way to bring laughter to those around him. No matter what life brought his way, Randy often reminded those he loved, "It's okay, God has got this." Those words reflected the faith and trust in God that guided his life and will forever be remembered by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by his daughter, LaCherisa Whisnant; brother, Steven Whisnant; sister, Kimberly Whisnant; and brother-in-law, Richard Grier.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Julie Smith Whisnant; son, Christopher Hollifield; daughters, Pam Shockey (Russell), Jennifer Sutton-McCurry (Phillip), and Cynthia Castaneda (Juan); brothers, Freddie Whisnant, John Whisnant, and Jody Whisnant; sisters, Joyce Grier, Vicki Whisnant, and Pennie Brumbalow (Royce); 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Randy's life was a testament to the importance of faith, family, kindness, and laughter. Though he will be deeply missed, his love, his laughter, and the memories he leaves behind will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
