Richard "Pops" Wayne Sadler, born on February 12, 1941, in Berea Ohio, gracefully departed this world on Friday, September 12, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard was a dedicated member of Cornelia Christian Church, where he was actively involved in ministry throughout his adult life. He had a profound impact on countless lives, leading many to Christ and sharing his joyful spirit with everyone around him. His outgoing personality, characterized by an ability to never meet a stranger, and his penchant for bright colors, crazy hats, and socks made him a familiar and beloved presence in the community.
In his personal time, Richard found joy in fixing things and working on cars, pursuits that showcased his hands-on approach to life. His role as The Grinch at church highlighted his playful nature and ability to spread laughter among family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Sadler; his son, Richard Sadler II; son & daughter-in-law, Brian and Rhonda Sadler; daughters& sons-in-laws, Sindy and Reggie Moon, Tammy and Ken Michal, and Kathy and Danny Guest; along with 13 cherished grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Richard was also blessed with numerous nieces and nephews, who will remember his warmth and kindness.
He is preceded in death by his father Harold Sadler, mother Dorothy Spence Shafchuk, his late wife of over 40 years Hughlene Sadler, and sister Beverly Wild. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Cornelia Christian Church with Minister Greg Miller officiating. In celebration of his vibrant spirit, family and friends are invited to wear their boldest and brightest colors.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the church.
