The family of Selva Jean Moore Dorsey, age 87, is deeply saddened to announce her passing on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Born in Habersham County, Georgia on November 19, 1938, Jean was the daughter of the late Alonzo Moore and Lucy Nix Moore. She lived a full and remarkable life, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and treasured memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her siblings, Betty Jo Kimbrell and Charles Moore; and by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Homer Dyer.

She is lovingly survived by her children, Chris Owenby (Chrissy), Cheria Nix (Rex), and Rolanda London (Edwin); her grandchildren, Shandie Rickey (Jonathan), Emily Hudson, Kadem Dyer (Brittany), Kami Dyer, Hunter Nix, and Reid London; her great-grandchildren, Jada Grace Hudson, Jace Hudson, Weston Rickey, Raelynn Rickey, Rhyan Dyer, Olivia Williams, Sophia Williams, Aslan London, Walden London, Tennyson London, and AlexysMey Scharroo; her sister-in-law, Myloe Moore; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many cherished friends.

Jean will be lovingly remembered for the life she lived, the love she shared, and the lasting impact she made on her family. Her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and blessing to those who were privileged to know and love her.

In accordance with Jean's wishes, no formal services are planned at this time. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Stephany Pressley for her extraordinary care, compassion, and friendship. Her kindness and unwavering support were a true blessing, and they will always remember her as Jean's angel.
