SHIRLEY ANN ELLINGSON FREE, age 77 of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2019.
Born in Baldwin, Georgia on August 08, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Lyman Vinson & Ruth Whitworth Vinson. Shirley was a personal caregiver for many years. She truly enjoyed caring for others, loved her church, and especially spending time with her family. Shirley was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother, & was affectionately known to her grands as “Memaw.” She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Eugene Errol Free.
Survivors include her son & daughter-in-law, Greg & Barbara Ellingson of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Cassie & Wesley Barrett of Braselton, GA; Jordin Lee Ellingson of Tampa, FL; sisters & brothers-in-law, Carolyn & Bill Gosnell, Lottie Wheeler, all of Clarkesville, GA; Lakeeta & Larry Chambers of Demorest, GA; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2019 at Unity Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Purcell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour on Friday.
