Wanda Alexander London, age 77, of Cornelia, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 28, 2025.
Born on March 5, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Laymon "Brother" Alexander and Eva Mae Stephens Alexander. Wanda dedicated five decades of her life to a fulfilling career as a nurse. She had a genuine passion for caring for her patients and cherished the conversations she shared with them. Outside of work, Wanda treasured time spent with her family and friends, enjoyed traveling, and was a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. One of her favorite memories was attending the Sugar Bowl where Georgia defeated Notre Dame to secure the 1980 National Championship.
Wanda will be deeply missed by her family, including daughter, Laura Roberts of Cornelia; daughter and son-in-law, Lawanda and Roger Bolsius of Round Rock, Texas; former husband, Lamar London of Lavonia; sister, Sandra Delay of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Natasha Burrell, Rodney Porterfield, Miranda Porterfield, and London Bolsius; eleven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends.
Funeral services are 11 am on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at New Bridge Baptist Church in Cleveland. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at the funeral home.
Flowers are accepted or memorials can be made to the charity of one's choice.
