Wanda Woody Trotter, age 78, of Clarkesville, Georgia, took her Heavenly flight home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2026.
Born in Gainesville, Georgia on January 15, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Fred Woody and Liller Helton Woody. A devoted homemaker and faithful member of Christian Baptist Church in Clermont, Wanda lived a life marked by unwavering faith, quiet strength, and selfless love for her family. She was one of her husband's greatest encouragers and faithfully stood by his side as they traveled and ministered together throughout his years of evangelistic work. Whether supporting his ministry, caring for her family, or offering a kind word to those around her, Wanda's gentle spirit reflected the love of Christ. Above all else, she treasured her family and found her greatest joy in being a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished Nana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Lorene Morgan and Dora Jones Woody; brother, Bill Woody; nephew, Scot Jones; and an older sister, and two older brothers who passed away in childhood.
Survivors include her loving husband, Rev. William Edward "Bill" Trotter; daughters and sons-in-law, Lori & Chad Tench and Amanda & Casey Howard; son and daughter-in-law, Josh & Amanda Gibson; step-daughter and son-in-law, Deborah & Clint Chitwood; step-son, William Vandergriff; brother and sister-in-law, James & Wanda Woody; grandchildren, Hope Tench, Cole Tench, Brealla Tench, Brooke Howard, Brianna Howard, Blake Howard, Kaitlyn Gibson, Victoria Gibson, Jacob Gibson, and Jackson Gibson; step-grandchildren, Hannah & Brandon DeMore and Kayla & Dustin Watts; four great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of treasured friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2026, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Trotter, Rev. Timothy Gerrin, and Mr. Josh Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in the Christian Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the legacy of faith, love, and kindness that Wanda leaves behind will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she has heard the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant," and now rests peacefully in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
