Wanice Gale Ward Dalton, age 91, of Demorest, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
Born on May 20, 1934, in Baldwin, she was a daughter of the late Noel Carlton and Bessie Amanda Poole Ward. Mrs. Dalton was retired from Chicopee/Ethicon and was a member of Cornelia Christian Church. She will be remembered for her fondness for traveling and especially for her love for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Richard Dalton; grandsons, John Coggins and Jonathan Dalton; brothers, Winston Ward and Shelton S. Ward; sisters and brother-in-law, Treelis Stonecypher (Ottis) and Janice Ward Dunken; and brother-in-law, Gene Anderson.
Survivors include her daughters, Julie Batson, Laurie Holtshouser, and Vicki Ellen Coggins; stepson and daughter-in-law, Anthony Richard Dalton (Loretta); grandchildren, Brittney Ferguson, Justin Ferguson (Hollie), Caroline Jones, Michael Batson, David Holton, and Jessica Herrin (Josh); great grandchildren, Haleigh Ferguson, Lexie Ferguson, Kyle Ferguson, Matthew Jones, Natalie Jones, Caiden Jones, John Herrin, and Jenna Herrin; brother and sister-in-law, Clifton Ward (Sandra); sisters and brother-in-law, Leatrice Ward Cohen (Lenny), and Annice Ward Anderson; brother-in-law, Tom Dunken; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
