William David “Bill” Wiley, age 72, of Lula, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2026.

Born in Commerce, Georgia, on November 8, 1953, Bill was a son of the late Julian David Wiley and Ruby Evelyn Wilson Wiley. He spent more than 25 years working as a plumber with Wiley Plumbing Company, where his strong work ethic and dependable nature served him well throughout the years.

Away from work, Bill was happiest enjoying the simple things in life. He loved farming and tending to his cattle, a pastime that brought him many years of enjoyment. He was also affectionately known by those who knew him as quite possibly the best amateur auctioneer around. His quick wit, personality, and ability to bring a smile to those around him made for many treasured memories.

Although Bill never married or had children of his own, family was at the center of his life. He shared a special bond with his siblings and poured his love into his nieces and nephews, whom he spoiled and loved as though they were his own. To them, Uncle Bill was much more than an uncle—he was a steady presence, a source of laughter, and someone who loved them wholeheartedly.

Bill was a member of Living Word Tabernacle. His family takes comfort in knowing that his earthly journey is complete and that he is now at home with the Lord.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother, Julian “Ray” Wiley.

Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Phillip and Greta Wiley; sister and brother-in-law, Miriam and Allen McElwaney; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at Living Word Tabernacle, with Rev. Glen Compton and Bishop Kevin Magness officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemons Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
