William Joe Gosnell, age 46, of Cornelia, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Born in Demorest, Georgia, on November 4, 1979, Joe was a son of Alexander Fred Gosnell and Ethel Mae Truelove.

Joe was a man who found happiness in life's simple pleasures and had a special way of bringing laughter and joy to those around him. He had a passion for working on cars and enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Whether he was turning a wrench, enjoying a day in the woods, or casting a fishing line, Joe appreciated the little things that made life special.

Known for his playful personality and wonderful sense of humor, Joe was quite the jokester who loved making others laugh. He believed that a smile could brighten even the darkest of days, and he often shared his favorite motto, "If someone doesn't have a smile, give them yours." Those simple words spoke volumes about the kind of person Joe was. He had a gift for lifting the spirits of others, and his laughter, quick wit, and lighthearted nature created countless memories that his family and friends will forever treasure.

Above all, Joe loved his family. The moments spent together, the laughter shared, and the memories made were among his greatest blessings. Although his earthly life ended far too soon, the love he gave and the happiness he brought to others will remain a lasting part of his legacy. His family will miss him tremendously, but they will forever carry his memory in their hearts and remember the importance of sharing a smile, just as Joe always encouraged others to do.

Survivors include his loving wife of seven years, Kimberly Slaughter Gosnell; sons, Justin Gosnell (Jamie) and Matthew Gosnell (Nikkie); step-son, C.J. Wade; brothers, Bradley Gosnell and Hubert Gosnell; sisters, April Gosnell and Wilma Rider (Johnny); numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & McEntire Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 17, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
