William Lee Meeks, age 82 of Mount Airy, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 11, 2024.
Born in Habersham County, Georgia on July 25, 1942, he was a son of the late Clyde & Mary Hurt Meeks. William served his country proudly in the United States National Guard and retired from the United States Postal Service with over 23 years of dedicated service. He was a faithful, life-long member of Camp Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Sue Westmoreland Meeks; brothers, James Eugene Meeks, Henry Joe Meeks, Roy Haskel Meeks, sister, Mildred Juanita Meeks; & son-in-law, William Arthur Downs.
Survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Kim & Rick Quarles; sister-in-law, Frances Meeks; grandchildren, Rebekah Culpepper, Rachel Culpepper Thornton & Zachary Thornton; Carrie Culpepper, Jesse Culpepper, & Leah Culpepper; great-granddaughter, Abigail Thornton; other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart. Interment will follow in the Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that all donations be made to Fellowship Tract League, P.O. Box 164, Lebanon, OH 45036.
